Science Exchange ("we" or "us") is a US-headquartered company that connects researchers with scientific service providers. We aim to enable scientific discoveries by making it easy for researchers to access the world’s leading scientific service providers and most innovative scientific technologies.
How do we collect and use information?
Our primary goals in collecting information are to provide and improve our Services, to administer your use of the Services (including your account), and to enable you to enjoy and easily navigate our Services.
Account Information. If you create an account, to use the Services, we’ll collect certain Personal Information (i.e. information that can be used to identify a person) that you provide to us, such as your name, email address, job title, and phone number. Where you provide it, we may also collect your photograph, the names of organizations you are affiliated with and other profile information.
Lab Information. If you create an account to use the Services as a Service Provider, in addition to the information listed above, we’ll also collect additional information including the address of your facilities, the names of individuals who work in your facilities and services offered by you.
Other Information you provide to us: You may also give us Personal Information through our Website, for example, when you make inquiries about our Services or when you sign up for updates. If you contact us by email, or in any other way, we will keep a copy of your communications with us.
Information Related to Use of the Services. Our servers automatically record certain information about how a person uses our Services (we refer to this information as “Log Data”), including information about Requesters, Service Providers and non-account holders (together, “Users”). We may however retain personal information for an additional period as is permitted or required under applicable laws, for legal, tax or regulatory reasons, or for legitimate and lawful business purposes.
Our Policy Toward Children. Our Services are not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected Personal Information of a child under 13 we will take steps to delete such information from our files as soon as possible.
